
Duncan Stearn has been a freelance journalist and writer since 1985, first in his native Australia and, since late 1999 in Thailand. His work has appeared in publications as diverse as The Daily Telegraph (Sydney), The Australian Magazine, Adelaide Review, The Bookmaker, Turf Monthly, Australian Greyhound Review, NSW Greyhound Weekly, Behind The Boxes, DeFax Formguides, Phuket Gazette, Chiang Mai Mail, Pattaya Mail, Pattaya Today, and Pattaya Trader. He is the author of five books: The Ultimate Accolade (The New South Wales Greyhound of the Year Title 1965-1985) 1986; Chronology of South-East Asian History 1400-1996 (1997); Pattaya, Patpong on Steroids (2002); Pattaya Unplugged (2002); Pattaya Snaps, A Celebration of the Women of Pattaya (2004; with David Kuri). He also contributed two chapters to The Australian Greyhound (1993). Although permanently based in Pattaya, Duncan still contributes four stories each week to DeFax Sporting Publications in Sydney for use on their website and in their greyhound racing formguides. In between all this work he manages to find time to wander around the bars and dives of Pattaya to research (at least that’s what he calls it) his regular fortnightly Nightmarch column for Pattaya Today newspaper. |
